Bands/Songwriters

Phil Dollard

NEW LINK SUMMER 2011:  A new friend and kindred spirit.  Phil's an acoustic blues man and a fellow Jupiter.  His energy is contagious!

Carolann Solebello

NEW LINK SUMMER 2011:  Carolann is a hot rockin' mama with a brand new CD: Threshold.  The tune "Michael" from her first record Glass of Desire makes me long for old lovers to send me letters of forgiveness or apologies.  Her lyrics cut through the crap and right to the chase.

Phineas and the Lonely Leaves

NEW LINK SUMMER 2011: Phineas and the Lonely Leaves is the best rock band I have had the pleasure of checking out in some time.  They make me miss being in a rock band!  I'd describe their sound as what might happen if the Counting Crows, Elvis Costello and Death Cab For Cutie had a love-child.

Pleasant Bud & Jody

NEW LINK SUMMER 2011:  Pleasant Bud & Jody are new friends who play acoustic classics from the Folk and traditional worlds.  Sweet folks!

Backwoods Jupiter

Myself and 11 other Hudson Valley musicians decided it would be a good idea to get together and record all the tunes off of Bob Dylan's Desire album from 1976.  Here is what we came up with :)

Tadd Kroneck

Tadd is my usual partner in crime in most musical shenanigans.  A fellow Jupiter, he's also a singer/songwriter, guitarist & bassist, and, above all, a great friend.  His tunes are reminiscent of Neil Young, Wilco and acoustic Black Crowes.

Curtis Schmidt

Check out Curt's rock album "Tales of a Traveler."  I am honored to be singing harmonies on 2 tracks:  The Road to Paradise and God's Green Earth!  He's also a fellow Jupiter!

The Ya Yas

Catherine, Jay and Paul of The Ya Yas are a talented trio (sometimes joined by Eric Puente on drums!) whose songs cut me right to the bone - in a good way!  Their new album Paper Boats fills me with a raw emotion I always hope for when I listen to a new CD but I rarely feel.  Album highlight:  "Last Good One."  Paul is also a  fellow Jupiter!

Tribes Hill

Tribes Hill is a nonprofit organization uniting musicians of the lower Hudson Valley region (and beyond!) and their patrons in support of a music community that aspires to common goals and beliefs. It is a conceptual gathering place for people of all races, politics, and faiths coming together to explore and celebrate the human experience through song.

Steve Kirkman

Steve gets such ambient and ethereal sounds out of electric guitars that you forget your listening to a guitar at all.  He also rocks hard in that Johnny Cash kind of way and is a member of Backwoods Jupiter.

Eric Puente

Eric is a fierce drummer who accompanies all of the Hudson Valley's best artists.  He is also a fellow Jupiter!

Meaghan Farrell

Megs and I have been dueting original and classic covers for the past 2 years.  Her album "Waitress" was produced by Jules & the Family alum Marc Osborn.  I like to describe Meaghan's sound as Rent meets Power Pop.  Like if Pink or Kelly Clarkson were on Broadway.  It's quite impressive.

Stanley Maxwell

Connecticut-based four-piece Stanley Maxwell plays original music that blends (among many other influences) jazz, funk and rock with tight arrangements and intricate group improvisation.  I was honored to sing some harmony with Stanley Maxwell and Johanna Kodlick on a special benefit project where we covered Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here."

Music Town

Bryan Gordon

Bryan is one of my favorite songwriters. His new album "Heroes, Fools and Saints" is the answer to "Who is our generation's Bruce Springsteen and/or Tom Petty?"  It's the perfect summer evening soundtrack.  His tales are so compelling you want to believe they are autobiographical, until you hear yourself asking him, "So Bryan, did you really kill a man in Austin just an hour ago?"  Plus, he's never happy without a good hook of a guitar line.

Scott Urgola

Scott's album "Now's the Time" is acoustic rock at its best.  I had the honor of singing harmony on 2 tunes:  "I am What I am" and "Start Spreading the Wealth."   Scott is also a fellow Jupiter!

Pat Kelly

Pat's new album "Alice is Not in Wonderland" is a collection of the emotional musings of the quintessential working musician.  There is even a lovely cover of the Jules & the Family classic "Dolores."  His influences include Springsteen, Billy Joel and all of the Traveling Wilburys. Currently on location in Denmark.

The Strip

Hopefully we can get these Torontonians down stateside sometime soon in 2011! Roots rocks, gorgeous 3-part harmonies, and all around nice dudes!

Marc Osborn

Besides being a great friend and bandmate for 7 years, Marc has an established solo career playing piano and bass, as well as working as a producer in Orlando, Florida.

Rob Scheps
Rob is a world renowned saxophonist and flautist. He lent his skills on the Border Radio tune "Without You"!
Andrew James, Jr.

Check out Andy's album: THE TOENAIL JAR. Andy is a fellow teacher who happens to be one helluva squaredance caller!  Album highlight:  I Cracked at the Airport.

Cherish the Ladies

One of my favorite Irish traditional bands, and extended "Family" members - frontwoman Joanie Madden is John Madden's sister! Joanie helped us out with her whistle on "Spinning"!

The Cuban Cowboys
Fun, Cuban, surf-rock! We first met them @ Kenny's Castaway years ago, and have been following them ever since.
Rubber Soul
Rubber Soul is a fantastic Beatles tribute band! They have left no Beatle nuance unturned, belting gorgeous harmonies and spot-on guitar solos.
Cassandra Frake
Cassie has a cool, jazzy vibe and writes lovely original tunes.
Chris Foley
Dana Edelman
I really enjoy Chris's subtle electric lead guitar coupled with Dana's acoustic, soulful sound.
Putnam Music Center
Need guitar strings? Music lessons? Gig gear? Putnam Music Center is one stop shopping for all music needs. Gus and the gang are much more helpful than the big chain music stores, and they do a lot to support local musicians as well!
The Prodigals
A fantastic bunch of guys who play awesome Irish Rock & Roll!!
Marcell
A fantastic Belgian musician responsible for my Belgian Summer tour 2006. Marcell has quite a following in Flanders, Belgium (he knows everybody!), and it was a complete pleasure and honor to share gigs with him this past August. Album highlight: "Plastic Jesus."
Hope Machine

Fred Gillen, Steve Kirkman and friends have recorded a few good old Americana protest songs!

Jamie Shields
Check out Jamie's haunting cover of some old school Blind Melon! This incredible singer/songwriter is back in NY and ready to rock! Jamie really inspired me to pick up the guitar and start writing, over a decade ago.
Two Guitars
Check out Brian and Gus, a fantastic acoustic jazz/pop/rock/blues duo! Guitar playing at its finest.
Naya Tabia
Naya is the quintessential entertainer: singer/songwriter/choreographer/dancer...among many other talents. She's also a GREAT teacher!
A Few 2 Many
I just read about these awesome teenagers doin' their thang in Northern Westchester. Not only do they rock, but they do it for good causes TOO! Good luck guys and keep rockin!
Soulstream
Check out my good friend Justin O'leary's fantastic band Soulstream. It's radio-friendly hard rock!
Jason Gisser
Jay is a big reason I have my singer/songwriter sh*t together. Album highlight: "Manthem"
Fred Gillen Jr.

Check out Fred's latest live album with Catherine Miles:  "Live in the Heartland of America."  Every time I see Fred perform I am reminded that a concert is for the people, not necessarily about the performer.  And he's a fellow Jupiter!

Marc Von Em
Check out Marc's cool website! Marc is what all singer/songwriters strive to be: awesome. Album highlight: "Witness."
Michael N. Lee
A good friend from high school and a great bass player.
Matt Turk

Check out Matt's latest album "American Preservation!"  I wrote a little review here.  Matt is also a fellow Jupiter!

Johanna

Johanna just rocked the house at 2011's Pleasantville Music Festival!  Check out Johanna's folk/rock/pop album "Why Would I Sing?"

Peter C. Hopkinson

Great local musician.

The Kootz
This band is booked EVERY SINGLE DAY of Summer down on the Jersey Shore! A perfect way to spend an August night.
Steve Chizmadia

Fellow Beatle-phile Steve Chiz rocks country-rock like no other.  Steve is one of the best lyricists I have ever met.  He also played lead guitar on my tune "Should've Stayed Away"!
